I want a option to turn off the email notifications.

I'm going to approve this feature, this is a big suggestion as not everyone likes emails. I think this would require some other work in the back end, to allow you to categorise the emails.
Such as;

News Notifications
Announcement Notifications
Thread Notifications
Account Notifications

I've unapproved this suggestion for the time being as I'd like a bit more information regarding this idea.
I know Karl has added a list in his reply, but it don't explain exactly what is mean't by "no email notifications"?
